Case Study
The Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation

The Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation is a Pittsburgh-based 501c3 that provides awareness programs and fundraising events to help educate others about melanoma and the dangers of tanning. Being a non-profit, they are constantly seeking community and corporate support to help ensure that their educational programs continue. Their committee consists of all volunteers, so there was a huge need for outside support to assist them in connecting with community & corporate support for their Annual 5K Run/Walk in June.

The Approach

To help connect the Foundation with appropriate sponsors and partners for their event, we used a variety of existing relationships that made sense to be connected with the event based on their mission. Not only did we create new relationships, we also found unique ways to make those sponsors and vendors also benefit from supporting the event itself, while also gaining a great return on investment.

Services Provided

  • Content for social media posts
  • Newsletters
  • Social Media Management
  • Community Relations

The Outcome

Each year, the 5K event continues to exceed previous years as far as participation and donations. Even with the short hiatus due to COVID-19, we anticipate 2022 to be their best year yet. Additionally, the outside relationships that we provided to them have continued to help increase overall donation dollars to the foundation.
