Supporting the Caregiver, In the Workplace

Did you know that on average, a caregiver will spend around 24 hours a week caring for an aging parent or loved one? And out-of-pocket expenses average around $7,000? Those are staggering statistics and something we don’t typically hear about in the workplace setting.

At some point during an average career, employees will find themselves having to care for their aging parents. This might be due to sudden and unexpected illness, or just the natural aging process. On top of that, many of those caregivers are also tending to their own children. The stress of balancing providing care and maintaining a career can be immense and almost too much to handle. Luckily, there are options for those caregivers to help assist them with their caregiver roles, financials, and balancing their stress levels.

Migliaro Consulting has recently partnered with Zacharia Brown: Elder Law and Estate Planning. At Zacharia Brown they have a single focus of serving the elderly. They are the oldest and most established Elder Law firm in Western Pennsylvania and provide guidance in seeking options for home care, life care planning, estate planning, and more. With this partnership, Migliaro Consulting launched a new corporate series that will touch on some of the most important stressors that employees face while in the workforce.

This four-part workshop series includes the following topics:

  • Estate Planning 101
  • Pre-planning and Crisis Planning: Paying for Long Term Care
  • How Can I Keep a Loved One at Home
  • Understanding Probate: When a Loved One Passes Away

If you’re an employer, consider that this may be one of the most beneficial wellness workshops you can provide for your employees. Please contact us today to learn more!
